Meet the Runners

 

In early winter 2020, I identified a gap in our Los Angeles Marathon content: the stories of every day runners. Meet the Runners was a storytelling campaign I conceptualized, designed, and executed in the lead up to the 2020 Los Angeles Marathon. The campaign featured runners from around the world.

Project Details

I put out a call for stories on our social media, and then connected with runners that replied. The project started on Instagram stories and then I quickly realized it would do better on social media feeds. I pivoted and expanded started posting the stories on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter. This change meant that more people could see the stories and, more importantly, the community was able to connect. Runners quickly saw themselves in the stories featured and got to meet some of the runners who were out on the race course with them on race day.
